Perspectives: RIIA®’s Big Ideas Tent - Going to the 2016 Retirement Industry Conference

As you read these daily News & Views posts, you will have learned about RIIA®‘s unique perspective on the DOL Fiduciary Rule, and may have read the most recent Commentary on the rule by Fred Reish.

We have created a Fiduciary Rule topic in the Discuss area of the site – to share your perspective on the new rules.  Once you have Registered on www.riia-usa.org, you can contribute to the discussion and also Comment on individual articles.

Our View Across the Silos℠ perspective allows us to provide a range of opinions on the DOL Rule and retirement issues from practitioners, academics and retirement industry players, as well as organizations such as LIMRA, LOMA and the Society of Actuaries.

Commentary and perspectives articles, the discuss area on the website and our 8000 strong LinkedIn group are areas where the RIIA community engages and learns from each other.  RIIA conferences are another powerful way in which the community benefits from the diversity of thought and opinion afforded by The View Across the Silos.  Our Summer Conference is fast approaching.  Click here to read the agenda and sign up.

In the coming weeks I will be attending the 2016 Retirement Industry Conference, produced by conference partners the LIMRA LOMA Secure Retirement Institute and the Society of Actuaries.  Bob Kerzner will give what I’m sure will be a compelling presentation: The DOL Fiduciary Rule: Positioning for Change.

As most of you likely know already, Bob is LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global CEO. He will lead a panel of industry leaders across distribution, manufacturing and legal firms.

They will discuss the DOL’s final fiduciary rule, its implications for distribution, product design, communications efforts, as well as new opportunities and challenges facing the financial services industry.

I look forward to hearing his perspective, to seeing many of you there, and encourage you to take the time to read the recent Perspectives article by RIIA’s Al Turco on this subject.
