2016 RMA® Practice Manual for RMA Students, Graduates and Compliance Officers

The RMA® Practice Manual, RIIA®’s reference book for RMA students and graduates, the annual re-certification for the Retirement Management Analyst® designation and compliance officers, has been updated.  The 2016 or 2nd edition of the manual is now available for purchase on Amazon ($50).  Click here. The 2016 RMA Practice Manual is one of the textbooks used by RIIA’s university partners, including the RMA online education program offered through Salem State University. “The practice manual serves as an essential source of information for compliance officers conducting due diligence in the process of accepting the RMA as an approved designation,” said Al Turco, Counsel, RIIA. The manual addresses the following key questions compliance officers need to answer in the designation approval process:
  • Who is the RMA sponsoring organization?
  • What is the focus of the RMA?
  • Is the RMA curriculum independently reviewed?
  • What qualifications are required of RMA applicants?
  • What is the process required of an applicant to become RMA designated?
  • Once an RMA designation is earned, are continuing education credits required of the designee?  How are these CE credits earned?
  • Is the RMA designee subject to a Code of Ethics?  If so, how is it administered?
  • Is a complaint process publicly available?
  • Is the RMA designation regulated?  If so, has the sponsor satisfied the regulatory requirements needed to sustain the RMA designation?
  • Is there an RMA Designation Use Policy?
We encourage member companies who have already approved the RMA designation to notify their compliance departments of the updated manual.
