RIIA® launched its innovative content-driven web platform in February to create new opportunities for its community of thought leaders to engage with each other, share ideas and expertise. RIIA®’s VLC Webinars: A View Across the Retirement Landscape
Since 2014, RIIA®’s Virtual Learning Center has offered free webinars to members and the advisor/retirement community at a rate of 22 a year, thanks to the support of our corporate sponsor.
With an established core audience of 1,000 thought leaders, the VLC outreach has extended to 10,000 advisers, financial institution staff and other professionals who value the webinars for their insights and perspective on innovative ideas and best practices in the retirement industry. They have also proved to be a valued resource for financial reporters.
Guided by RIIA’s View Across the Silos℠ perspective, presenters have included representatives from all product areas, advisors, researchers, academics and other thought leaders. Almost half have focused on retirement planning, a third on client behavior and market research, and the balance on regulatory or product updates.
Our latest webinar, “Why Retirees Go Broke” with Dirk Cotton, RIIA’s 2015 Thought Leadership Award winner, will take place on Wednesday, May 4, noon – 1 pm ET. Expanding on his blog from The Retirement Café earlier this year, he will share insights into recent elder bankruptcy research and the relationship between the risk of bankruptcy and the risk of depleting retirement savings prematurely. Click here to register.
Upcoming webinars are posted both under News & Views and in the “Learn” area on www.riia-usa.org. Replays are publicly available for two weeks. RIIA members can access past webinars for 18 months in the Members Area.
We welcome suggestions for new webinar topics and presenters. Contact Kim McSheridan the Director of RIIA’s Virtual Learning Center at [email protected].
