Webinar Replay: Money & Women: Why Talking Sports, Sex, & Scare Tactics Don’t Work - May 3

Date: Wednesday, May 3, noon – 1 pm ET

Looking to win more new women clients and retain the ones you have? This webinar will help you step back and assess your chances of success.

It’s time to move beyond phrases like “skating to where the puck is going” or “we’re in the top of the 7th inning of our planning”. It’s important to know if you are being perceived as patronizing or insulting to the “gentler sex” by words you don’t realize you use. And those images of a long, lonely old age won’t win over clients who do worry about their future. Sports analogies, sex, and scare tactics simply don’t work to build long, trusted relationships with women.

Craig Adamson has found ingredients for successfully working with women and Marcia Mantell is a long-time champion for women & money. They’ll discuss their experiences, insights and practical approaches for winning over more women clients and keeping the ones you’ve got. This webinar promises to be entertaining and chock-full of practical advice for what you can (and should) do differently to secure your place in your clients’ hearts.

Craig Adamson has advised individual and business clients since 1996. He became an independent advisor in October 2000 when he joined LPL Financial and founded Adamson Financial Planning. The emphasis of Craig’s practice is to fully understand his clients both financially and personally. This “comprehensive” or “holistic” approach creates a customized financial plan and investment strategy for clients. This helps them focus on their goals instead of driving themselves crazy watching the news every minute to see if the markets are up or down. This approach has proven popular as he works with multiple generations of families as well as clients from diverse backgrounds and ages. Craig holds an Iowa insurance license, is securities registered (Series 6, 7, 63, and 65), holds the RMA®, CRC, CRPS,  and PLANSPONSOR Retirement Professional (PRP) designations. Craig is a proud graduate of Iowa State University and acting president of the Linn County Alumni Association.

Marcia Mantell, President of Mantell Retirement Consulting, Inc., regularly partners with financial institutions to help them support their customers across the retirement spectrum − from a focus on saving, to the transition into retirement, to how to organize and manage income to last a lifetime. Her book, What’s the Deal With®…Retirement Planning for Women is a treasure trove of practical retirement information and her blog BoomerRetirementBriefs.com showcases Baby Boomers and their creative approaches to retirement. She is an active member of the Retirement Income Industry Association (RIIA).  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rochester and holds a Retirement Management Analyst (RMA®) designation.

RMA® Reminder: Attendance at the webinar (or its replay) counts towards required CE for RIIA®’s RMA designation.  One webinar = 1 hour of credit.

For RIIA institutional members, all employees within the company are RIIA members and can take advantage of this member benefit.
